The Rideau Osgoode Karate Club held its 8th annual Polar Bear Dip in Ottawa on January 1st, 2004. The temperature this year was very mild and so we did not have to even cut through the ice (some 2 metres of open water was exposed closed to the shore). Forty-two brave souls braved the elements to jump into the frigid winter waters of Mooney's Bay. The annual event raises money for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
